Sister Wives star David Woolley is done talking about wife Christine Brown’s polygamist past — including her ex-husband, Kody Brown, and his other wives.

“At first I was OK, but then it got old,” David, 62, says in Us’ exclusive sneak peek from the season 21 premiere, reflecting on constantly discussing Christine’s life. “And it’s repeated.”

According to David, 54, their conversations always revolve around exes. “Not just Kody, but all the exes. … It just gets old,” he adds.

Christine was spiritually married to Kody, 57, for more than 20 years before they split in November 2021. During their marriage, Kody was also married to Meri Brown, Janelle Brown and Robyn Brown. Christine went on to marry David in October 2023.

While David says he knew what he was signing up for when he married Christine — who is still close with former sister wife Janelle — he’s also done making his wife’s past the focal point of their relationship.

“I want to know about you and I,” he says in the clip. “And I get tired of it because it’s like, ‘Can we talk about sports? Can we talk about something else?’”

Christine is visibly tense during the discussion with David, explaining, “I think polygamy made me who I am, right? I only knew polygamy.”

She reminds her husband that he is her “first” experience with a monogamous relationship, since her parents were polygamists and she “married into polygamy.”

David, however, argues: “I’m not married to Meri or Janelle. And it’s OK, but it’s not OK. Because it’s like, ‘What does that have to do with us?’”

Christine, who shares six children with Kody, agrees her family history has “nothing” to do with how she and David are living now.

“I can hear you and I can listen, but I don’t really want to,” David replies.

Christine rose to fame after Sister Wives premiered on TLC in 2010. At the time, the show followed Kody and his wives as they prepared to welcome Robyn, 47, into their plural family.

When Christine left Kody in 2021, she started a ripple effect that seemingly exposed the cracks in their family.

Janelle, 57, announced in December 2022 that she and Kody had been separated for several months. The former couple welcomed six children during their three decades of marriage. (Their son Garrison died in March 2024 at the age of 25.)

In January 2023, Meri, 55, confirmed that she and Kody were no longer in a relationship following their 30-plus year union. The exes share one child, Leon.

Kody remains legally married to Robyn. The pair became lawful spouses in 2014 so Kody could adopt her three children from a prior marriage, later welcoming two more kids of their own.

The couple surprised fans earlier this month when TLC confirmed they are not returning to Sister Wives for the new season.
